The steaming, fizzing waters of Champaign Pool

For along the trail and all around us, we see (and smell) burping boiling
pools of mud, smoking collapsed craters, and hissing gaseous fumeroles, pumping
who-knows-what kinds of chemicals, flammable and otherwise, out into the air. It all seems so surreal, so otherworldly .
